I try to review all movies with an honest approach as to how I felt that the film turned out, and I always try to look for the good and the bad in any movie. When writing a review I try to take into consideration both the quality of the film as a work of art, perhaps discussing the performances, direction, or script, as well as evaluating the movie for its entertainment value; specifically for its target audience. Therefore my ratings alone don't express my true sentiments about a given movie, and should be taken along with the review itself. With all that being said, here's my rating scale:
1/5: Putting it bluntly, this is my way of saying that this movie sucks 2/5: A mediocre attempt, but not completely horrible 3/5: These films are good; enjoyable but often lacking something 4/5: A great film I would surely recommend to a friend 5/5: A truly fantastic movie, inspiring or in some other way masterful 6: An off-the-scale ranking I give only to the best of films
